Chinese

I had Jane, Marty, Clancy and Bridget over for dinner tonight. On the menu was Chicken and Almonds with Oyster Sauce, Sweet and Sour Pork, Stir Fried Veggies and Steamed Rice. I had six Marty Bars in the freezer so that's what I served for dessert.

Diva Dog

I took Stella to the groomer today. She goes every Thursday so you'd think she'd be fine with it. Plus, Erica loves her. When we pulled into the parking lot, I told her she was going to see Erica. She curled into a ball in her car seat and clearly did not want to go in. Once we were in, she laid her head on my shoulder and refused to look at Erica! Little stinker! I left her anyway.

When I picked her up, I took her to the Humane Society to have her microchipped. She wasn't too sure about the gal who took her from me, but went along with it. She took her into another room to do the deed while I filled out the forms. When she was done, the woman brought her back out to me. Some of the other women who work there were standing around and wanted to see her and pet her. She snuggled right into my neck and wanted nothing to do with any of them. One even offered her a bacon treat and she sniffed at it but turned her head and refused to take it. I am still amazed at that one, she is a treat whore!!

After such a stressful morning, the poor little darling is all curled up and sleeping at my feet. Could I have a more spoiled dog?

Scattering Seeds

The girls scattered wildflower seeds where we scattered Jim's ashes three years ago. We were pleasantly surprised to find some wildflowers blooming on the river bank and wondered if they were from the seeds we mixed with his ashes. Rest in peace, Jim, we love you!

The View From The Cheap Seats

And this is after she made adjustments. I was too slow on the uptake to get the before picture.

Visiting Grandma

Sarah 32, Allison 35, Grandma 100

Two Eggs,

basted, 5 strips of Myer's bacon and toasted Sweetheart bread, buttered. This is the meal Sarah always requests when she comes home. Mama tries to make it her first morning here. This morning she had it along with a glass of blueberry pomegranate juice.

Quote

Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.

Skin

Allison and Karter dropped the boys off at my house last night. I took them to McDonalds and then told them we were going to stop at my Mom's so Mom's friend, Darleen could see them. Jameson said, "Why does she want to see us?"
Gage answered with, "She wants to see what color our skin is."

ARGHhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Sarah's plane was delayed out of Boston so that meant she wouldn't be able to make her connection to Bismarck in Denver. She elected to stay there and leave today. So, I'll be going to Bismarck to fetch her after lunch today. The good part is that she's getting in at 3:30 instead of midnight. Much better time to be driving. The bad part is I get one less day with her :(

Sarah's Coming!!

Sarah's plane gets into Bismarck at midnight tonight! I can't wait! She and I will have 4 days together!!! I can't remember the last time I got to have just her. It was at least 7 years ago.
I love Allan and my grandsons with all my being but I am thrilled to have my baby to myself for a few days!!

One More For Jim's Team!!

Jim was thrilled when we found out Gage was going to join our family. He said he had always been outnumbered by girls and finally, there were going to be more boys than girls. He loved it! I know he was overjoyed when David joined our family, making it 5 to 3 in favor of the boys.

This morning I got the news that we are again going to add a healthy baby boy to our family :) Grandpa and Grandma are both ecstatic!!

New Boots

I promised Gage that if he quit wetting the bed, I'd buy him a pair of cowboy boots. Last night, it was time to pay up.

Complications

I had a date last Monday night and another on Tuesday night. Strangely enough, they were both Jims.

The Monday night Jim wants to see me again. He's a nice guy (even brought me a rose) but if anything between us would ever work, it'd take a lot of work. Simply because we are so different. He lives about 60 miles away and as an added deal-breaker, he has two teen daughters. I've decided to tell him that I've been thinking it over and I'm not ready to complicate my life with a relationship at this time.

Actually, I am more than ready. However, I'm not ready for him and I never will be. I would like to find a guy who fits into and compliments my life. I don't want to change where I'm at in life and if that makes me selfish, then I guess I am. I'm happy alone and would rather remain alone than with Mr. Wrong, no matter how nice he is.

Sarah is the world's best plucker and I haven't had a good pluck since I was there at Christmas. Can't wait for her to get here next week!

When You Gotta Go, You Gotta Go!!

Oh, and On the Packing Thing??

Seven minutes and I only forgot one thing... my toothbrush! Luckily Alex had an extra one to share :)
Thanks, Buddy!

Booster Seat & Bark Park

I ordered Stella this booster seat and it came while I was at Sarah's. I installed it today and she loves it! She can finally see out the window but is safely contained :)
Oh, oh...I think I'm turning into one of those dog persons :)
We also stopped at the dog park today. It's an enclosed area where you can let your dog run off leash. She absolutely loved it! Allison and Karter stopped with the boys so they could run with her too. She ran like the wind and was exhausted when I brought her home. Exhausted and filthy!
I bathed her and just got done brushing her out. She's all curled up and laying under my chair sleeping now. Looks like I can forego the walk tonight. I think I'll start taking her there on Wednesday nights, seeing as how she goes to the groomer on Thursday mornings.
I guess I really am one of those people :)

Delayed Flights

We had to wait out a thunderstorm at Logan and walked off the plane in Indianapolis and onto the connecting flight with no time to spare. It was a short flight to Minneapolis where we had supper and then waited again for a plane that had been grounded because of weather. It finally arrived, we finally boarded, took off and arrived in Minot at 1:00AM. My traveling companion was exhausted but tickled pink to see his Mommy after a week away.
