Eighteen more sleeps :)

I'm counting the days until Sarah, Alex and David get here! Eighteen more nights and I'll once again get to share my bed with Alex :) I'm sooooo glad he got his cast off. Maybe I'll come out of it minus the black and blue marks this time :)

Don't All Grandmas Carry Cameras In Their Purses?

I have to admit that I do get a few strange looks when I drop everything, dig in my purse for my camera and crouch down on my knees and start taking pictures of the boys. But when you hang out with adorable, active boys, you never know when the opportunity will present itself. Gage had way more fun on the playground than he did watching Jameson's T-Ball game last night. And Grandma got the knees of her jeans dirty along with those weird looks. Wouldn't you say the shots I got were worth the looks?

Bless His John Deere Green Heart!

Not only did he spend Sunday morning staining my deck, he also arranged for Economy Autoglass to come and get my car, replace the windshield and then bring it back today. Gotta love a guy like that! But the main reason I love Karter is because he is sooo incredibly good with my boys and loves them as his own :)
Here's to you, Karter!

Sharon and Gianna

How lucky I am to have such thoughtful friends! I got a package today from Sharon and Gianna (Stella's middle name is named after Gianna) Sharon had a beautiful necklace made for me. I got a little teary eyed when I opened it. I tried to take a picture of it but it just didn't work. Anyway, it's got two circle pendants on it with each of my girls' names on them. And in between the circles is a clear purple bead. It's so cute but hard to explain. Just wait until you see it though, you're going to be jealous! Thank you Sharon! I'll treasure it always!

The rest of the package contained stuff for Stella. CUTE stuff! A pink polka dotted leash, a pink harness, a red & purple stuffed bunny that squeeks, a purple ball that squeeks, a pink furry dog bone and a chewy toy that you hide a treat in. And the BEST thing of all is the card! The front of it says, "G" is for girlie!! Now who else but Sharon could find such a perfect card??

I'm about 110% positive that G had a big hand in picking it all out. She's a little sweetie who definitely knows what she likes and what she doesn't :) When I go visit them next year (that is IF they'll have me again) I'm going to bring Stella with me so she can meet her namesake. You can see by the picture what a good little shopper G is!

Now all I need is a puppy :)

TGIF!!!

7:17 AM, phone rings... Jameson on the other end, "Grandma, can you come and get me and Gagey and take us to Day Care? Mommy's dizzy and can't drive."

Me: "MMMmmm, ok, let me get out of bed, get dressed, brush my teeth and I'll be there. Do you have Bible School today?"

Jameson: "Yes."

Me: "I'll be there as soon as I can."

I got there around 7:30. Bible School doesn't start until 9:00, so I took them to McDonald's for breakfast and let them play until 8:45. I got some cute pictures but I'm too lazy to go get my camera to upload them.

After we took Jameson to the church, Gage and I stopped at Miracle Mart so he could bring a treat for the kids at Day Care. Couldn't sell him on the push up idea either so he bought (actually, I bought) a bag of lollipops for each of the classes. Then on to Day Care for him. (I did ask when we got there, and yes, they have a freezer there so next time, THEY WILL GET PUSH UPS!!)

Came home, jumped in the tub, did my hair and make-up and returned to the church for the Bible School program at 11:00. It was cute and I got pictures :)
Afterwards, I took Jameson to Day Care and came home to finally put my feet up and read the paper.

At 2:00, I picked up my Mom and we drove to Bismarck. We went to Bread Poets and picked up some yummy bread and then on to Petsmart to get all the equipment I'll need for when Stella gets here. Afterwards, Mom treated me to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. YUM! The drive back was uneventful.

I plan to take my phone off the hook, turn off my cell phone and sleep in tomorrow. I may even take two sleeping pills tonight! Darn good thing I don't have a job... when would I fit that in??!! I'm sure glad Bible School is over until next year!

Good Samaritan

Yesterday, Allison called and asked if I'd come and get her to take her to the ER. She had a migraine, was throwing up and couldn't drive. I got out on the highway and a truck passed me and threw up a rock. I have a huge bullet looking hole with cracks radiating out from it in my brand new windshield :( I've had my car all of 6 weeks :(

I got to spend 3 hours in the ER, pick up Allison's prescription, pick up dinner for her family and take her home.

I raced back to town to pick up Jane from the clinic where she'd had surgery earlier yesterday afternoon. I'd told her at least 6 weeks ago that I'd be able to do it so I was expecting that call. Went to get her prescriptions too before I took her home.

While I was at the ER, I called Patty and backed out of a retirement party I'd RSVPed for.

All in all, it cost me $$ for gas, $$ for the boys' dinner, $$ for a retirement party that I didn't get to attend and $$$ for a new windshield. Sometimes being a Good Samaratin doesn't pay :(

Have It Your Way

8:15 this morning I get a phone call. Little voice on the other end says, "Grandma, I want you to pick me up from Bible School, Mommy is sick and has diarrhea." OK, I'll pick you up and take you to Day Care. "But I want you to take me out for lunch too." I told him we'd talk about it when I picked him up.

Sooooooo, I picked Jameson up from Bible School at 11:30 and told him he had two choices... Pizza Hut or Sammy's. He chose Pizza Hut. On the way, I had to stop at the credit union to cash a couple of checks. While at the drive-up, he notices Burger King across the street and says, "I wanna go to Burger King." OK, so Burger King it was. UGH, I had forgotten I like Burger King even less than McDonald's :(

While eating lunch I decided that he should take treats back to Day Care for everyone. I called the Day Care and they told me there were 14 kids in his room. Ummm, no, I mean in the whole Day Care. In that case, there are 35 not counting the baby room. I suggested that we go to the grocery store and get push-ups for everybody. Not a good idea according to him because they don't have a freezer. Hhhmmm, but wouldn't they eat them when we got there? Evidently not because he said, "I just don't think it's a good idea." OK, off to K-Mart, where he immediately picks up a battery operated lollipop for $2.99 and says, "we should get these." Ummm, no.

I showed him several things within my budget and he chose whistle pops. We bought 36 whistle pops and I'm sure the Day Care ladies are now praying I don't pick him up from Bible School tomorrow :)

Wonder if my phone will ring again in the morning? And why does the kid know my phone number and not his own?? I wonder how long it'll be before he knows my cell number too?

i'm lovin' it

I picked Jameson up from Bible School this morning. I gave him the choice of going back to Day Care for lunch or having lunch with me. Not surprising, he chose to have lunch with me. Also not surprising, his choice for lunch was Micky D's. He's lovin' it, I'm beginning to hate it. Oh, the torture one goes through trying to be a good Grandma!

Lunch

I ate three miniature Butterfingers and drank two 16.9 oz. bottles of water for lunch. I figure the benefits of being well hydrated far outweigh the danger of eating candy for meals. Works for me :)

Oh, and my face ITCHES!

HIDING OUT :)

After the full face treatment yesterday, Marilyn, Jennifer and I are all greased up (Aquaphor on the face for the first 48 hours!) and heading out to Shirley's cabin. It'll be a big surprise to Shirley since she has no idea Marilyn is even in town :) Patty and Deb are pretty sure they'll be coming down too and Jane is still unaccounted for. Nothing like a Homemaker's Road Trip!! How many Bulldogs can 7 Homemakers drink???

Dandelions

Now, wouldn't you think one of the reasons a person would choose to live in a condo would be so they don't have to do their own yardwork? Hmmm, me too! In fact, that was one of the many reasons we did decide to buy a condo.

The dandelions are so thick in my yard that they're threatening to choke out the grass. I've been waiting for the lawn service the condo board hired to take care of it but it seems all they do is mow and the dreaded dandelions just keep multipying.

The condo board just sent the minutes from the most recent meeting. It stated that each individual owner was responsible for pulling weeds from the rocks and around their own decks. I get that and do that but there was no mention of the prolific dandelions in all the yards.

Wouldn't you think a simple application of weed and feed would do wonders? Hell no, that's too easy! I just spent an hour outside spraying those beautiful yellow flowers, used two bottles of Weed B Gone and still only got about half my lawn done.

Hey people!!! If I wanted to do yardwork, I'd live in a house!! Can I complain even if I don't go to the meetings?
